S&L had a prank to pull on new employees. One day I found a realistic looking specification for a GE instrument in my inbox. There was a note on it from our boss telling me to look into this for our project. hmmm.

Well I started reading the spec, got confused, started again etc. Eventually I was laughing and continued reading it. The physics in the document are pure fiction.

One day we had another new employee and the guys did the same thing to him. We didn’t hear anything back from him. He was foreign (as so many of our employees were) and really did not understand our idiotic humor.

We all expected to hear from our boss about the prank, but we never heard from him or the new employee about it.
