August 1985 to March 1987. R.R Donnelly was the printer, not the publisher. R.H. Donnelley published the phone books, R.R. Donnelley printed them. We also printed books, magazines and newspapers. I was a Project Engineer in the Manufacturing Department.

I wrote programs and integrated other programs for printing presses and related equipment. I worked with Texas Instruments and Allen Bradley PLC’s as well as some analog equipment.
This was step 2 in getting back to industrial equipment design. I moved to Donnelley to advance to more complex equipment design.
This job was great for my career. I was with a group of guys who all were very well versed in PLC programming and standard industrial design. I learned about codes and project management. These skills really helped be to advance in my future jobs.
