The offices were about ¾ below grade under the plant floor.  Engineering was in a bull pen with the mechanical engineer, the designer and myself.  There was only a shared computer when I started.

I got approval for CAD software and the vendor included a PC to run it, thereby bypassing the corporate IT department.  We also had a tech who was from maintenance and was considered part of our group.

The plant manager and engineering manager offices were nearby with a shared secretary for all.  She was still using an Apple IIe for reports and word processing.
