April 1980 to November 1993. Continental Can obviously made cans, but they also made plastic containers and materials to make plastic containers. I was in the plastic container group. My department designed machines which were built for customers to enable them to use and seal Continental Can’s containers.
I worked on designing and programming the controls for the machines. I also travelled to the customer’s plant to install and startup the machines.
This was an interesting job and fullfilled my need to work on different things every day. Each machine had its own design characteristics and obstacles to overcome.
