The engineering office was a large room with 16 drafting tables and side desks. Right outside the door was the shop where the projects were built. Many times we would have to explain things to manufacturing or make changes based on manufacturing as-builts.
The production of unique drawings for each project was interesting. We would make sepias of product drawings, cut out the parts we wanted and paste them on a large velum for the project. Then you connect the dots by drawing the interface wiring.
There were a lot of interactions among the engineers and designers in the room. Most of the time, the interactions were about the projects we were working on. Sometimes things would get out of control.
