This is one of my favorite stories about Rapistan.  I arrived for my first day and walked back to my new boss’ office.  In the office every flat surface, including the chairs, was covered with files.  One of the sales managers was with him in the office.  I hadn’t taken my coat off yet.

He turned to the sales manager and said, “Watch this.”  I was handed 3 file folders and he said to me, “Hi Hank, here are your first 3 projects.”  After a couple of seconds he added, “Oh, I’d better find you an office.”

I think that’s why I liked the job, there was no waiting around while they decided what to do with me.  I got to dig in right away.
