Keeping your logins to various websites secure is very important. The best way is to follow these rules:
1. Never use any word that is in the dictionary.
2. Never use a date, such as your birthday, address etc.
3. Always use 2 or more of the following:
a) Capital Letter
b) Lower Case Letter
c) Number
d) Symbol/Punctuation
4.Use a different password for each website
A new thing with web sites is to ask you secret questions like “What was your first pet’s name?”. DO NOT GIVE OBVIOUS ANSWERS! Anyone can find out information about you, like “What was my first car?”
It’s best to treat these questions just like a password and use the same rules as you use for passwords. Keep your answers in your list of passwords. Use different answers for each question and website.
If you follow all these rules, you will definitely need to keep a copy of all your passwords and secret questions. Consider using a document with a password, or just write them down old school on a piece of paper.
Another good way is to use an online password keeper. I recommend Last Pass (lastpass.com). Besides your passwords, it can keep those secret question answers in notes also. And your password encrypted on your pc or device before it goes ot Last Pass, so they can never see your password.
